Premium Standard Compliance Machine Guarding Systems for Safe Production

Metan specializes on providing standard compliance machine guarding system solutions. Standard compliance is the significance and value Why Metan machine guarding system exists. We deeply understand that how importance it is of safety to enterprises and workers, therefore, we take this challenge as our mission and are committed to providing standard compliance products to protect workers' personal safety and ensure safe production.

The height and opening of Metan machine guarding system are precisely set in accordance with international standards. Main factors we take into consideration are as shown below:

  • Range of movement of machine;
  • Space requirement for human-machine interaction during operation and maintenance periods;
  • Way of human-machine interaction, for example, human-machine interface;
  • Machine power source interface.

Choose an appropriate installation position based on the comprehensive assessment result of 4 aspects aforesaid and then set safe distances between machine guarding system and machinery accordingly.

The height of Metan machine guarding system is set in accordance with ISO 13857 4.2.2 Reaching Over Protective Structures. For example,

  • The height of machine guarding system is set to 200 mm above the ground to avoid anyone going through the security fence from the bottom.
  • We will recommend machine guarding systems in various heights based on your specific risk levels.
Design principle of horizontal safety distance to danger area
  • A Height of danger area
  • B Height of protective structure
  • C Horizontal safety distance to danger area
  • 1 Danger area
  • 2 Reference plane
  • 3 Protective structure

According to ISO 13857 standard, the height of machinery guarding system shall be set as shown below:

Height Options of Machine Guarding System – Low Risk
Height of Danger Zone Above Floor A (mm) Height of Machine Guarding System B (mm)
1000 1200 1400 1600 1800 2000 2200 2400 2500

Notes
  • Machine guarding systems less than 1,000 mm in height are not included because they do not sufficiently restrict movement of the body.
  • For danger zones above 2500 mm, the height of machine guarding system shall be 2,500 mm or more.
